National Museum of Pakistan (Karachi) was established on April 17, 1950. The main dictum behind establishing this museum was to research and conserve the art and cultural heritage of the Pakistani nation. The museum comprises of 11 different galleries, most admired among these is Quran Gallery. Here in this museum, visitors can observe Gandhara and Indus Civilization’s sculptural work, Islamic artwork, the ethnological status of cultural groups, old coins and more than 70,000 books etc.

The Mohatta Palace is a museum built in 1927 in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. It was built in the deluxe beach area of Clifton by Shivratan Chandraratan Mohatta, who was a Hindu Marwari businessman. He used to visit this palace in summers as his summer home. At Partition of Sub-continent in 1947, Mohatta Palace was taken by the newly authorized Government of Pakistan to house its Ministry of Foreign Affairs in this palace. The architectural style of the museum is Indo-Saracenic architecture.

The most favorable time to visit Karachi is in winters because the weather is mild cold there. It is the weather when turtle come out on Turtle Beach. It is a popular picnic spot not only for humans but for green sea turtles, which come out of the sea to lay eggs in the sand.

UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Chaukhandi Tombs is an ancient graveyard where there are tombs of the ancestors of the local residents. Complex carvings and Sindhi designs influenced the making of graves is the most eye-catching feature here. These are believed to be originated between the 15th and 18th century.

In the Scytho-Parthian era, Bhambore city was built in the 1st century BC. By the 8th century, Muslims got control over it and ruled until the 13th century. It was then abandoned but its ruins and probably one of the earliest mosques of the world, built in 727 AD is still found in Karachi. 

One of the most prominent attractions of Karachi is the Tooba mosque or as locals call it, the Gol or round mosque. The white dome with 236 feet diameter has pillars for its support and is solely balanced on the low surrounding wall. It has space for 5000 people to offer prayer at a time.
 

Considered one of the busiest markets in Karachi, Empress Market has everything to offer to customers. Visitors usually go there in the morning while the shops are set up and there is not much crowd. In the colonial-era structure, buyers can buy fruits, vegetables, clothes, stationery and even pets. It was named after Queen Victoria, once the Empress of India. 

The must-visit museum in Karachi, Pakistan Maritime Museum consists of submarine, aircraft and other artillery that were once used by the Pakistan Navy. A six-gallery indoor museum is a place that uses murals, relief sculptures and dioramas to teach visitors.

An open-air place to enjoy food alongside the sea, the Port Grand has various choices to offer to visitors in terms of restaurants. The cuisine of your choice can be enjoyed with an eye-pleasing view of setting sun if you go in the evening.

Cape Monze, locally called Mount is a beach with hills nearby. People often climb up on them to view the horizon and sea. It can be dangerous at times but if you are lucky you may get to see dolphins or whales swimming in the sea. 

This lake is situated at a distance of 52 miles away from Karachi, Haleji is the greatest waterfowl reserve of Asia that attracts a large number of visitors. In winters, hundreds of birds from Siberia fly over here and more than 222 different bird species like coots, kingfishers, white herons, waders, flamingos, shovellers, egrets, pheasants, black-headed gulls and partridges can be seen here. All bird lovers must visit the place. 

People who are curious about under-water or love everything about sea must visit Churna Island that is merely at a two-hour drive away from the central Karachi. People can swim; snorkel and scuba dive here and see all the sea creatures that live in warm waters, with their own eyes.
